Tell me about your breeding program.
We very carefully plan each breeding to produce only the best puppies possible. We do not breed every heat because the health and welfare of our pets is most important to us.
What do you feed your dogs?
We feed only Natural Balance All Natural Dog Food. I choose this brand because I like the limited ingredients without any fillers or preservatives. Meat is the first ingredient and is not a meat by product.
What is your policy on shots and worming?
We begin worming our puppies at 2 weeks of age and continue to worm until the schedule is complete at 10 weeks. We begin shots (5 in 1) at 6 weeks and give at 9 and 12 weeks.
Do you give supplements to the puppies?
Only if mom is needing some nursing help, I will give a home-made, high fat, high calorie formula that I use to supplement feeding. My mom is fed very well, this produces high quality milk.
What about house training?
When the puppies are 4 weeks, we begin taking them outside to potty. I take them out every 2 hours all day long, even in the rain! They use a doggie door and love going out to run and play!
When do the puppies begin solid food?
At about 3 weeks, I let them lap up home-made formula. At 4 weeks they eat Natural Balance puppy food soaked in formula. By 6 weeks, they are eating solid, dry food very well.
Where do the puppies sleep at night?
The puppies all sleep together at night in a kennel. They enjoy the security of each other's company. They are used to a kennel which makes it easier for them to adjust in their new homes.
When are the puppies ready for their new homes?
Most are ready around 8 weeks. We evaluate each puppy and determine that individually. When they sleep on their own, eat well, and look to humans for companionship, they're ready!
Is there any written health guarantees?
We stand behind our dogs. Your happiness with your dog is important to us. That is why we offer a one year health guarantee against any congenital health defects.
Isn't it hard to let the puppies go?
It is very hard to let them go. I have been hand raising these pups since their birth. I am also selective about their new homes and know that they will bring tremendous joy to their new family.
